The best-selling book in the world always was and still is the Bible at five billion and still counting. The second is the Quran at 3 billion. Despite a world growing ever more secular, no matter what one does in life, we must recognize something greater than ourselves for true happiness and a purpose-filled life. The house of worship may be very wide-ranging from a breathtaking 16th Century Styled Cathedral, a prayer closet or your own backyard prayer garden but everyone can and does benefit from an intimacy with the ONE you view as your creator. Over the years, my work seems to have been inexorably guided closer and closer to this conclusion; without any conscious effort on my part, more and more religious organizations are guided to rely on my religious photography to provide the necessary media they need for their development and important community outreach. In an increasingly hostile, contentious world, as society begins to shift back to the hope and inspiration that a divine guide can provide; this aspect of my work will become more and more prominent in the 2020’s and beyond. There are more rewards in providing a service such as photography other than financial. During the recent pandemic shutdowns, most houses of worship were shut down, especially in the winter months. I realized then exactly how important it is to us to have a place to gather; to have a place of comfort to meditate, pray, and listen to the silence of our hearts as one with each other and our Creator. These opportunities are only made possible by an organized group of individuals working together with a common spiritual goal in a common intersecting community. I love helping those communities spread the word to their followers through religious event photography and video for digital broadcasts such as those that proved so valuable during those closures.
There are many special occasions through the worship calendar year that call for documentation , whether it is a Christian, Jewish or other Orthodox practice such as Byzantine Catholic; religious Easter photography, Passover, which marks freedom and renewal or religious Christmas photography to mark the birth of the Savior; these are particularly beautiful and colorful opportunities to chronicle your house of worship on holiday cards and social media posts.
I work closely with the Diocese of Scranton for many of their special masses and sacramental events as well as other denominations in the area whenever they require professional-grade video recordings or beautiful still photography that highlight the true atmosphere of your special praise and worship events. Please stay in touch with my posts here to see new collections as well as on my Facebook page to keep updated on our faith community in the Northeast PA. region.
